It happened again in Lagos

Those in the city of Lagos will not forget the remarkable program that lasted from the 1st to 10th May 2017. They consider themselves blessed because it happened again in Lagos; despite the fact that it took place in Lagos and Ijebu-Ode last year. This

program was meticulously put together by Sunrise Foundation, Ireland and Nigeria. The foundation is made up of passionate volunteers who strive to relieve hardship, poverty and sickness amongst individuals in need.

This foundation has been championing the prevention and care for diabetes and High blood pressure since 2014. The founders visited Lagos again with a medical team from Ireland who worked with the team in Nigeria. The venue of the 10 day health mission was Mother Mary Catholic Hospital Isolo, located in Domus Mariae (building) Isolo.
They created awareness to over 5000 people and about 500 individuals were screened. Those diagnosed to be Diabetic and (or) Hypertensive were commenced on treatment free of charge. The foundation also donated drugs for these patients’ refill. The beneficiaries came from different parts of Lagos and their joy knew no bounds because they were taken care of by hard working volunteers who are passionate about service to humanity.
